The Sound of Mahalaya

Distant music of times unknown
calms my ears, even my eyes,
my olfactory systems wanting
the smell of Shiuli flowers.

Come, the mother, the goddess,
the possible destroyer of patriarchy;
hope for the feminine, the subdued;
come and fill yourself in this society.

But will it destroy patriarchy,
the all-pervasive masculine gaze?
Deconstruct it, demolish it
and bring fresh dynamics of femininity.
