Shambles Of Modernity

A bluish-black surge spreads
Times recondite it shades.

Creatures fall, animals crawl
The rotten modernity it hauls.

Flashes of unknown scruples
Fades into mystic bubbles.

Pestilence, war, rapacious crimes,
Too many wants, greed begrimes.

Plants wilt, thirsty broken silt,
Nature’s desires, earthly laws tilt.

A screech from antiquity hails,
That all of today’s greatness fails.
