Love, Sand, And the Ocean Bed

Love is like the sand,
If you grip it too tightly,
It’ll slip through the slender meanderings
Of your fingers,
Looking for the ocean bed.

Love is also like the ocean bed,
That gives asylum to all the sand,
Which has slid through your veins,
And rests there,
Waiting to be held again.

Longing the touch of a fist,
Yet, wanting to escape.
