Love

Bathed in the sunlight, I fell in love again,
I promised I wouldn’t, but I did.
Years ago, I read, “To fall in love is to lose control,”
And I lost it all.

This time, not for a man,
But for humanity itself.

The dam had broken,
Fascism overflowing our shadows,
And I wanted to conquer it with love,
For all wise men know that love is a conquerer,
a force against all that is evil.

This time, not for a man,
But for humanity itself.
