A Prayer For Madness

Emerald desires dripping down my chin,
as fast as I run, no strength in my shin.
I close my eyes, I meditate.
Chant repeatedly, senses don’t sedate.
Give me respite, give me peace,
I crave love, I crave lease
from anxiety, from tears.
As much as it hurts, give me flares
of equanimity, of judgment,
of a life that’s clement.
