A Farewell Note To My Earlier Self

I have faltered in my love,
but only if you’d known the shove
that lay me bare,
and beheld me in its snare.

I know not whether you’ll ever comprehend
the bits of my soul that transcend beyond,
I’ve only wanted to love,
But no one cared for me enough.

I trusted you, but you broke my heart,
yet I loved you with all my craft,
you led me to trust,
and you crushed my crust.

I shall never believe again,
No faith, no wish for gain,
Only suffering and pain,
All my efforts in vain.

Sincerely,
A. Bose.
